A few months ago the internet started buzzing about a big swell hitting the island of Java, so when I told Lee Wilson and Mega, who have never been to Panaitan before, so they got really excited about it and so we started planning the trip. And it just happened that our friends Jay Davies and Brent Dorrington were in Bali, and they also wanted to come along.
So off we flew to Jakarta, then after a couple of hours road trip to Anyer, we got to the harbor where our lovely boat was already waiting for us. ”Just Dreaming”— was the name of the boat. And we knew for sure it was going to be one of those dream-come-true trips.

Oh, and the other thing that made the name of the boat so memorable is that it sailed nice and slow so we fell asleep dreaming about what we would find at our destination. The ten hours went by really fast, and soon we reached the spot.
The first day we surfed this righthander called Apocalypse at 4-5 feet. Unfortunately the swell was not big enough to bring this monster alive.

The next day we found the wave called Illusion, which was really interesting. The waves were so perfect.. long and barreling. Just like a magical illusion. Or like a greenish cocktail which always make you feel good. There were only six surfers in the water all sharing this illusion, and all day there were just good waves, lots of barrels and few surfers.
